BECK O-LA-LA: In a Grammy season not strong on rock candidates, veteran Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jeff Beck had a career year, with a total of five nominations for his Atco/Rhino release, Emotion and Commotion, his first studio effort in seven years, including one for Rock Album of the Year, as well as a sixth nod for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals alongside Herbie Hancock, P!nk, India.Arie, Seal, Konono No. 1 and Oumou Sangare on Hancock’s The Imagine Project. Beck has previously won five Grammy awards, including last year in Best Rock Instrumental Performance for his rendition of “A Day in the Life.” Check out his performance of “Hammerhead,” nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance this year, during a stop at the Grammy Museum earlier this year, embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
