UMG Dominates Chart

A SMOOTH TRANSITION: As of Jan. 1, Lucian Grainge is now the sole CEO of Universal Music Group, with Doug Morris remaining Chairman, contractually until the end of the year, though rumors continue to swirl about his next move. The succession hasn’t seemed to slow the world’s largest music company, as UMG scores seven of the Top 10 on this week’s HITS Album chart, including the Top 6 (Taylor Swift, Eminem, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Disney’s Tron: Legacy soundtrack). The guard may change, but the results stay the same. (1/4p)
