The Secret Sisters Break Out in U.K.

SISTERHOOD IS POWERFUL: First touts of the new year are Laura and Lydia Rogers aka The Secret Sisters, two Alabama-born siblings who sound like something out of country music’s hallowed past, but strangely modern, too, having worked with the likes of legendary Nashville producer Dave Cobb and Jack White. Their self-titled debut, executive produced by T Bone Burnett, came out late last year on Universal Republic/Beladroit. Thanks to their appearance on BBC 2’s Jools Holland Hootenanny Party New Year’s Eve, the disc is exploding on the U.K. charts. Check out the two embedded videos below of the gals singing “The One I Love Is Gone” and “Walkin’ After Midnight” for a taste. (1/4p)
