Britney Breaks Records

HOLD IS HOT: Britney Spears’ new Jive/JLG single, “Hold It Against Me” which hit digital outlets yesterday, shatters all previous records for number of spins for a single day at both Mediabase (619 spins) and BDS (595 spins). Among the powerhouse stations playing the record are N.Y.’s Z100 and WXRK and L.A.’s KIIS and KAMP. USA Today says the single “delivers enough dizzying dance-pop ecstasy to ensure another chart-topping ride.” The song is now #1 at iTunes, went to #16 on BDS’ building chart and debuted #7 in total audience. Nice work by the label's Riccitelli and his promo gang. (1/11p)
