Record Store Day 2011

RETAIL HOLIDAY: This year’s fourth annual Record Store Day will take place Saturday, April 16. In 2010, more than 1,400 music retail outlets participated worldwide, raising sales 100% with exclusive product offers. Chief organizer Michael Kurtz called it “bigger than Christmas.” The event is managed by the Music Monitor Network and organized in partnership with indie coalitions AIMS and CIMS to celebrate the independent record store. Sponsors include Crosley Radio, EMI and Fontana Distribution, Furnace MFG, NARM, RED Distribution, Sony Music, UMGD, Vivendi, WEA Distribution and Warner Bros. Records.
