REMEMBERING GEORGE: In honor of the late Beatle George Harrison’s birthday today (he would've been 68) , the 2002 tribute Concert for George will be streamed for free on www.concertforgeorge.com over the next 24 hours. The show, which took place Nov. 29, 2002, one year after his passing, features performances by Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar and son Dhani Harrison. Rhino will release Concert for George for the first time on Blu-ray and digital download March 22. The two-disc set will include the complete concert on the first disc, with a second disc containing the original theatrical version. The set has been certified eight times platinum since its initial release as a two-DVD set in Nov. 2003, earning a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video. (2/25p)
