Trans World Financials

AS TRANS WORLD TURNS: Hidden inside Trans World Entertainment’s year-end fiscal figures, in which it reported shaving losses by 27% to $31 million (with overall revenues down 20% to $652.4 million) comes word that just 36% of its revenues are now derived from music, which is actually up a percent from last year. The company owns retail outlet f.y.e., among other properties. DVDs now comprise 44% of total revenue, with games contributing 6%. The remaining 15% is comprised of electronics, accessories and “trend” items. Over the past year, the company shuttered 156 stores, and now operates 532 locations nationally. (3/8a)
