American Idol on the Charts?

IDOLING ON THE CHART? American Idol Top 12 Season 10, an album including studio versions of full-length songs performed tonight by the show’s final 12 contestants, will go on sale for $7.99 exclusively at the iTunes store at 10 p.m. (PT), right after the airing. Like last week’s release, which included songs from the Top 13 finalists, the 12 individual tracks and the album will all be available on the 19 Recordings/ Interscope label. The first release landed in the Top 10 at iTunes, but does not appear in today’s Soundscan Top 200 or its Digital Albums charts. Sales totals for individual tracks are reportedly not made available so as not to influence fan voting. On tonight’s show, the 12 hopefuls will perform songs from the year they were born. (3/16p)
