KNOW YOUR WMG BIDDER II: Platinum Equity LLC, a private equity company founded by Tom Gores, whose brother Alex is a principal in Gores Group LLC, is yet another potential WMG suitor. The two siblings teamed up to acquire entertainment distributor Alliance Entertainment from its parent Source Interlink Co., in Sept. 2010, with the help of brother Sam Gores, who helped them buy (and now runs) entertainment agency Paradigm. Tom and Alec also courted Miramax Films before the film studio was sold to a group including Colony Capital LLC. Platinum also owns the San Diego Tribune-Union. (4/7p)
