Voted Off Idol Inked to Interscope

NOT REMAINING IDOL: That was quick. Pia Toscano, the 22-year-old from Howard Beach, Queens, voted off last week’s American Idol in a move that shocked fans and caused an Internet uproar, has reportedly signed with Interscope Records to record her debut album. Universal Music Group is this year’s musical partner for the hit Fox show after it spent the first nine years at Sony Music, while label head Jimmy Iovine and various producers have been mentoring the finalists. Chided by Randy Jackson for always singing ballads, Toscano changed it up last week by performing Ike and Tina's Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High," which is embedded below. (4/11p)
