HENLEY ON THE HILL: Don Henley was honored this week in Washington DC at the 10th annual Grammys on the Hill Awards for his commitment to improving the environment for the nation's
music community. The Recording Academy presented him with the inaugural "Recording Artists' Coalition Award" for his work advancing the rights of music creators. Henley spoke about ways legislators can advance pro-music policies to improve the environment for music and its makers, explaining why he supports this session’s Ticket Act, as well as last session’s Performance Rights Act and the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act. “What creators — musicians, singers, songwriters, producers — contribute to the world’s culture and economy should be valued and protected,” says Henley. “I hope that legislators will do more to protect creators and their ability to earn a living from their craft.
