ALL IN A DAY’S WORK: On Monday afternoon, Damian Kulash of OK Go, Amanda Palmer, Ben Folds and sci-fi author Neil Gaiman gathered at the Rethink Music Conference in Boston to write and record eight songs in eight hours, with a live webstream capturing their collaboration on the fly. Following the writing session, they were scheduled to play a concert together…and release an album. It’s gonna be interesting to hear the results of their labors. The conference, running through Wednesday, also comprises panels, interviews, lectures and concerts featuring the likes of Lyor Cohen, Paul McGuinness, Pandora chief Joe Kennedy, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills, U.S. Representative John Conyers, Metric and reps from all of the Big Four.
