PHOEBE SNOW, whose offbeat songs and distinctive, jazz-inflected alto set her apart from her singer/songwriter contemporaries in the 1970s, died Tuesday in Edison, NJ., at 58. She had suffered a brain hemorrhage in January 2010. Snow gained fame with her 1974 debut album featuring the memorable hit single "Poetry Man." (4/26a)
