TATE featured in LAT Calendar

LOCAL HEROES: A day after running a rave review of The Airborne Toxic Event’s second album, All at Once, (released yesterday on Island/IDJ), the L. A. Times Calendar section has published a page one feature on the brainy, upwardly mobile L.A. band. In the story, Steve Appleford describes the Dave Sardy-produced LP as “another inventive collection of warmth and ambition, with lyrics of emotional and literary weight by [Mikel] Jollett, following the band's acclaimed self-titled debut in 2008. The songs explore themes of time passing and loved ones slipping away, from the rousing title track to the playful, contemplative ‘The Graveyard Near the House,’ which closes the album.” As the story notes, the band is celebrating the release of All at Once with a run of hometown shows, tonight at the El Rey Theatre, Thursday at the Music Box and Friday at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.
