Smash plotline

SMASH RECIPE: As NBC describes it, Smash “celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross-section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire—to be a ‘smash.’” The narrative follows efforts to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe—written by the songwriting duo of Tom (Tony nominee Christian Borle of Legally Blonde: The Musical) and Julia (Messing). The soundtrack will be combine original compositions by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can) with covers of a variety of existing hits. Here’s a li’l teaser… (6/10a)
