EMI Re-Launches I.R.S.

EMI BRING BACK I.R.S.: Miles Copeland’s I.R.S. Records, home of R.E.M., the Go-Go’s, The Alarm, the Cramps, Concrete Blonde and PR guru Cary Baker during its lifetime, will be re-launched as a frontline label at EMI Music in partnership with Crush Management’s Jonathan Daniel and Bob McLynn. The pair previously worked with Capitol/Virgin Group President Dan McCarroll when he was at EMI Music Publishing. Crush spearheaded Train’s recent comeback, and continue to manage a roster that includes Butch Walker, Panic! at the Disco, Travie McCoy, Gym Class Heroes, Sia, Wavves, Chiddy Bang and Cobra Starship, among others. I.R.S., originally launched in 1979, will announce its first signings, with initial releases expected towards the end of the year. Anyone for a Let's Active reunion? (6/15p)
