Gossip Girl dude gets Jeff Buckley part

GOODNESS GRACE-IOUS: Guess who got the gig to play the role of Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic about his dad, Greetings From Tim Buckley? Many Buckley fans had been hoping it would go to James Franco, while others were rooting for Robert Pattinson, but Smuggler Films announced late yesterday that, as had been recently rumored, it has been snagged by 24-year-old Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley. Meanwhile, a film about the younger Buckley’s life was announced two months ago in the Huffington Post, this one to be directed by Jake Scott (Ridley's kid) and produced by Buckley's mother, who has been extremely hands-on with every posthumous Jeff Buckley project.
