PLEN EXITS SHANGRI-LA: After nearly five years with the Stephen Bing-financed, Jeff Ayeroff-led Shangri-La Music, Michael Plen is moving on. The relentless Attack Hamster, who started the promotion department at I.R.S. Records, then moved on to run Virgin Records’ promo troops for 16 years, has a rich history of developing and breaking acts like The Police, Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, one esikmO, N.E.R.D., Daft Punk, UB40 and Band of Skulls, among others.
