SONY U.K. SHAKE-UP: Longtime U.K. label head Ged Doherty, who was named Chairman/CEO for Sony BMG Entertainment U.K. and Ireland back in Sept. 2006 by then-COO Tim Bowen, is reportedly out, with veteran A&R man Nick Gatfield taking his place. Gatfield’s relationship with new Sony Music Entertainment head Doug Morris goes back to the former Dexy's Midnight Runners member's days as head of Island U.K. He left EMI Music in Sept. 2010 after being named President of A&R Labels N.A. and U.K. for the company in 2008. Doherty had replaced Rob Stringer when the latter moved to the U.S. as Sony Music Label Group U.S. President. (7/20p)
