GET ABOARD THE AMTRAC: Came Along, the debut album from Amtrac, the solo project of ace remixer/producer Caleb Cornett, comes out today, and is available on iTunes here. Kentucky native Cornett, who now resides in Miami, has remixed songs by Metric, Chromeo, Apparat, Treasure Fingers and the Beach Boys, as well as sharing the stage with Diplo, Mr. Oizo and Aoki. RCRD LBL says his music, influenced by Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky and Thom Yorke, “guides a rapid, crunchy beat and electric piano figures to a thoroughly mature songwriting space...[quickly evolving] into spliced samples flickering across the track in microtonal dots—a true dancefloor deconstruction." Amtrac’s video for “Came Along” will premiere on MTV Clubland next month. (9/27p)
