Trial recap

TRIAL RECAP: Medical examiner Dr. Christopher Rogers struck a major blow to the defense of Dr. Conrad Murray yesterday as the trial neared its end, saying it’s unreasonable to believe Michael Jackson could have given himself a fatal dose of propofol. Rogers testified it was more likely that Murray overdosed the singer when he incorrectly estimated how much of the drug he was giving Jackson. But the prosecution may have done the defense a favor when a tape was played of the end of Murray's interview with police two days after Jackson's death. Though the recording suggested that Murray stretched the truth about how much time passed between his administering of the fatal dose of propofol and his return to Jackson’s bedside, it also made a strong case for the doctor’s deep concern for his patient, while serving as Murray’s own testimony in the trial; he’s not expected to take the stand. Today, the prosecution is expected to call its final three witnesses: a cardiologist, a sleep specialist and an expert on propofol. (10/12a)
