Coldplay takes over iTunes homepage

HUGE COLDPLAY LOVE ON iTUNES: You probably noticed that the iTunes Store has been streaming a track a day from Mylo Xyloto leading up to today’s street date. What we’ve only just discovered is that iTunes has locked its mainpage for Coldplay, hyping the new album and spotlighting the catalog in what we’re told is an unprecedented move—and why not, considering the synergy established between the store and the band through the memorable use of “Viva La Vida” in 2008? The album hits (we almost said “streeted”) today. We’ll keep a close watch on iTunes' Mylo numbers and give you a heads-up if there are any noteworthy developments. (10/24a)
