Crowe PJ video prremieres on IMDb

DOUBLING DOWN ON TWENTY: In a clever twist, Pearl Jam and Columbia have opted to debut Not for You, a feature-length music video directed by Cameron Crowe, and a companion piece to his new rock doc Pearl Jam Twenty, on the Amazon-owned IMDb, which you can find here. The video features live, archival performances and behind-the-scenes footage of the band, none of which appears in the movie. “We tried to present an emotional scrapbook of what it felt like to be a band member on this twenty-year journey,” Cameron explained. “The richness of the footage made our path very clear—just tell the story of the band and let the music guide us. It was a joy to make this.” Breaking out his best flannel, IMDb Managing Editor Keith Simanton enthused that the footage is “from a raw time when the band was still finding its place in the rock world. It’s like Cameron Crowe has unearthed a time capsule for us and found a pulsar inside.” (10/25a)
