"It was mutual and amicable," a source told Us Weekly, who confirmed the split with a rep for the couple. "There was no third party involved." The Death Cab for Cutie frontman, 35, and Deschanel, 31, met after their mutual manager, Zeitgeist’s Jordan Kurland, introduced them three years ago. In Deschanel's September cover story in New York magazine, Gibbard gushed about meeting and pursuing the actress/singer, who’s now the star of the Fox sitcom New Girl and half of Merge’s She and Him with M. Ward. "I'd seen her movies and obviously I thought she was very beautiful," Gibbard explained. "I was just awestruck that she was even talking to me." Dude, we feel your pain. (11/2a)
