HUBERT SUMLIN, 80, Howlin’ Wolf’s longtime guitarist, died Sunday of heart failure in New Jersey. A Chicago blues scene mainstay, Sumlin was ranked #43 on Rolling Stone’s recent list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 2008, the Mississippi-born, Arkansas-raised Sumlin became a major influence on Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa. (12/5a)
