Happy at Relativity

A MOST HAPPY FELLA: Music business veteran Happy Walters, who famously got lost on his way to an ATM machine in Long Beach, but has emerged to become a leading sports agent with clients like the KnicksAmar'e Stoudemire and the MavericksCorey Brewer, has been named Co-Chief Operating Officer of Relativity, along with EVP Corporate Affairs & General Counsel Gregory Shamo. Walters was previously President of Relativity Music Group & Rogue Sports, launching both when he came to the company in 2009. The Relativity Music Group is a music supervision company that provides music publishing catalogs and soundtrack services for films produced and/or financed by Relativity and other studios, including Immortals, Bridesmaids and Limitless, while Rogue Sports is Relativity’s sports management platform. In the ‘90s, Happy established the music management company Buzztone Music, then created Immortal Records. Distributed by Sony’s Epic Records, the label released albums by Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Fleetwood Mac, Rage Against the Machine, Method Man, Velvet Revolver, Incubus and Korn. (1/11p)
