Voice critics' poll

PAZZ & JOP CHANGES ITS tUnE: The Village Voice critics’ poll is online, and though it’s far removed from its heyday under first-gen rockcrit Robert Christgau, Pazz & Jop 2011 does provide an illuminating reflection of today’s blog- and Pitchfork-dominated universe of music journalists. As one of the essays points out, winning album tUnE-yArDsw h o k i l l, which has sold 47k, is likely the lowest-selling and lowest-charting winner in the poll’s history—it peaked at #148 on the BB Top 200.
