BENNY JETS TO EPIC: It’s now official. Benny Pough has been named EVP Urban Music fir Epic Records, reporting to label head L.A Reid, who praised his leadership and executive skills. “I have had the pleasure of working with Benny for nearly a decade, and in those years I have seen him become one of the greatest executives in the business. His unparalleled instincts, history of success, and wealth of music experience give us a critical competitive advantage that will help ensure Epic’s future growth.” Pough was most recently SVP Urban Promotion for Reid at Island Def Jam Music Group since 2004. Prior to that, he spent seven years at MCA and Universal as VP Promotion. He began his music industry career in 1990 as a Regional Promotions Manager at Motown. Over the years, he has led the promotion and radio marketing campaigns rfor such artists as Mary J. Blige, The Roots, KC & JoJo, Rihanna, Young Jeezy and Kanye West. (1/27p)
