Grammy Protest

OCCUPY GRAMMYS: The Grammys' move this year to reduce the categories it gives awards in from 109 to 78 has stirred protests from the likes of meddling politician Jesse Jackson to the Jimmy Sturr Polka Fan Club. Various media sources are reporting that artists plan to camp outside of the Awards ceremony this Sunday (2/12) at L.A.'s Staples Center, in hopes of convincing the Recording Academy to reinstate a number of genres, with Latin Jazz artists in particular expected to turn out. Grammy boss Neil Portnow will be on hand to calm the protestors and serve donuts and coffee on the picket line. (2/7a)
