THE FUNERAL WILL BE ONLINE: Whitney Houston’s family has agreed to allow the Associated Press to stream her private funeral on Saturday at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, the news service said. The link is livestream.com/aplive. Gospel singer and family friend Marvin Winans will give the eulogy, while Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will sing at the service, before she is buried at Fair View Cemetery in Westfield. Though officials had discussed the possibility of a public memorial at the Prudential Center in Newark, the Houston family has ruled this out. Gov. Chris Christie has defended a plan to fly the state and American flags in New Jersey at half-staff on Saturday in Ms. Houston’s honor, tweeting that he was doing so in recognition of “her cultural contributions as an artist & New Jerseyan. Christie did the same thing last year in honor of Clarence Clemons. (2/17a)
