Live Nation Acquires Setlist.fm

LIVE NATION SETS LIST: Live Nation has acquired another tech company with its purchase of Setlist.fm, a wiki-like site that allows individuals to post artist set lists. The acquisition "will create a richer, more interactive fan experience within the Live Nation community," according to the press release. The site boasts a database of over 403,000 set lists from 24,000 artists at more than 71,000 venues worldwide. The company's database was already powering the set list features in the Live Nation and Ticketmaster iPhone apps prior to the acquisition. Last December, Live Nation acquired 50% of BigChampagne, while Ticketmaster just launched an iPhone app that allows for easy purchase of tickets. (3/6a)
