VEVO-Facebook update

VEVO KICKS IT UP A NOTCH: VEVO has just unveiled a major platform update—one that redefines the music video-watching experience, making it more personal, more social and continuous. Here’s how it works: By logging in with your Facebook credentials, VEVO will scan your Facebook activity (likes, listens) and create customized playlists based on what you might like and what your friends are listening to. Music discovery is the key here. Users can continue to watch unlimited videos without logging in at all, but doing so will give you a more robust and rewarding experience. The site has also added song lyrics, news, artist bios and contextual info. Videos now play continuously and the player is bigger, faster and works even better than before. Reviewing the updated site this morning, Forbes raves that, “from its social media posture to its discovery engine to its user experience, it is an important step forward for entertainment delivery. And there are lessons in it for companies, even juggernauts like Spotify and VEVO’s most important partner, YouTube.” Check it out at http://vevo.com. (3/9p)
