BMI Fetes King
KING FOR A NIGHT: Carole King will be celebrated as a BMI Icon at the 60th annual BMI Pop Awards, slated for May 15 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Previous Icons include David Foster, John Fogerty, Kris Kristofferson, the Jacksons, the Bee Gees, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Paul Simon, Merle Haggard, Brian Wilson, Willie Nelson, James Brown, Carlos Santana and Dolly Parton, among others. An all-star lineup will pay tribute to King’s record-shattering catalog. The BMI Pop Song, Songwriter and Publisher of the Year will also be named at the event. (3/22p)
