Madonna on Twitter...for three hours

THE SOCIAL MATERIAL GIRL: Madonna has followed her first foray into social networking—Saturday’s interview with Jimmy Fallon, which was streamed on her Facebook page —by joining Twitter, but only for a few hours last night, to promote yesterday’s release of MDNA. Her live chat began at 10 p.m. EDT and ended three hours later. A social-only promotion for a music-industry launch of this size is the first of its kind, the Wall Street Journal noted. “The idea was to do things differently,” manager Guy Oseary told the paper.
