FLO A GO ON UNPLUGGED: Florence + the Machine is the first group to be featured on the return of MTV’s five-time Emmy-nominated Unplugged series, with a performance this Easter Sunday (4/8). The 10-song set will premiere on MTV’s websites in U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia, with an exclusive 11th song, “Cosmic Love,” available online now. Universal Republic will release Florence + the Machine MTV Unplugged across digital retailers, simultaneously and in stores on April 10. Filmed at the historic Angel Orensanz, a former gothic revival synagogue in N.Y.’s lower east side dating back to 1849, the performance features selections spanning her debut album Lungs and sophomore set, Ceremonials. It also includes a cover of Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness,” as well as a special appearance from Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, who duets with Florence on a cover of the Johnny Cash/June Carter classic, “Jackson.” Commented MTV EVP Amy Doyle: “Florence's flawlessly embodied the spirit of Unplugged, which was created to showcase amazing artistry in its purest form."
