PRIMARY WAVE’S LONDON BRIDGE: Adding to to its offices in N.Y. and L.A., Primary Wave Music has opened a new branch in London, Primary Wave U.K., naming British music industry vet Clive Black to head it. Black was previously Director of A&R at EMI Records and Warner Music Group before starting Blacklist Entertainment in 1997. His signings include Mark Morrison, Marc Almond and Tasmin Archer. He has worked closely with the likes of Kate Bush, Sir Cliff Richard, Kraftwerk, David Coverdale, Afrika Bambaataa, Lee Scratch Perry, Robert Palmer and, more recently, Robbie Williams, as well as managing a diverse list of artists ranging from the legendary Donovan to hip-hop superstar The Game. In 2008, Black became President of The SPZ Group (owned by record producer Trevor Horn), managing Horn via his Blacklist Company. Said Primary Wave Founder/CEO Larry Mestel: “Now is the perfect time to bring in a European partner to expand resources overseas… Everyone in the music business needs someone named Clive working for them."
