TAKING A POWTER: Daniel Powter returns with a new single, “Cupid,” for the International Solutions label through EMI Label Services, with the video debuting today exclusively on VEVO. With the Capitol promo staff in charge, the single is climbing the Hot AC chart, with 30 stations already on board, including outlets in N.Y., S.F., Dallas, Denver, Tampa and Las Vegas, among others. Powter’s fourth album, Turn on the Lights, is slated for release Aug. 14. Best known for his worldwide 2006 hit, “Bad Day,” Powter describes his latest as a “true return to form.” On June 1, he will perform at the 63rd RSC Yellow Ribbon Event, a reintegration program for servicemen and women returning from the Middle East and their families.
