Gotye Keeps Going

GOTYE'S "KNOW" ON THE GO: Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” has now topped five different airplay charts, going #1 at Top 40, Hot AC, Alternative, Triple A and Dance. Universal Republic Records EVP Promotion and Artist Development Joel Klaiman says: “This is testament to the power of the song and artist as well as the tireless effort of our promotion staff. We are anxious to see what happens next with this truly magical song." The video for “Somebody” recently passed the 200 million mark in views. The track has been synced during pivotal scenes on 90210, Gossip Girl and Glee. In February, Gotye performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel in his U.S. television debut. Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone covered it on American Idol, while Gotye and Kimbra sang it on Saturday Night Live last April. On that same show, Andy Samberg and Taran Killam provided a hilarious alternate take on the song in a digital short that also went viral. (5/29a)
