Joss Stone's Soul Sessions

LET’S GO GET STONE’D: Joss Stone’s Stone’d Records has joined forces with the label that first signed her, Steve Greenberg's S- Curve, for the follow-up to the English neo-soul singer’s 5 million-selling 2003 debut The Soul Sessions. The 11 covers on The Soul Sessions Volume 2 include as “(For God’s Sake) Give More Power to the People” (the Chi-Lites), “The Love We Had” (the Dells), “Pillow Talk” (Sylvia) and “While You’re Out Looking for Sugar” (the Honey Cone). A soul makeover of the Broken Bells’ “The High Road” will be the first stateside single. “I really had fun revisiting ‘The Soul Sessions’ idea, and I’m really pleased with the results," Joss said. "I’ve committed long term to my label Stone’d Records, but it felt right to team up with Steve Greenberg and S-Curve again for this release. I think there are some great songs on the album, and I loved performing them with such brilliant musicians.”The LP is set for a July 31 release Stone’d/ S-Curve. (6/4a)
