NOT FADER AWAY: The Attack Hamster of Promotion has resurfaced as veteran label exec Michael Plen joins the Fader Label as EVP Marketing, Licensing and Promotion, where he will oversee the expansion of the company’s licensing division beyond the label’s own roster. Tacie Van Liew was also promoted to Director of Marketing by Co-CEO Jon Cohen, who commented: “The incredible work ethic, passion and wealth of knowledge that both Michael and Tacie bring to the label will further our commitment to supporting the development of our artists' careers." Fader’s roster includes Matt and Kim, Neon Indian, Saul Williams, Editors, Birdmonster and newest signing, Malaysian singer/songwriter Yuna. Plen was formerly head of promotion for IRS Records before moving to Virgin Records as SVP Promotion for 16 years, then Sanctuary Artist Management. His most recent post was EVP Marketing at Stephen Bing's Shangri-La Music, the home of Monsters of Folk and the Duke Spirit. (6/12a)
