Rosemond Proclaims Innocence

HENCHMAN PUBLICIST SPEAKS: The publicist for Jimmy Rosemond, the rap tycoon/drug trafficker ex-L.A. Times journalist Chuck Phillips has accused of beating up Tupac Shakur in the 1994 ambush at N.Y.’s Quad Studios, has denied the man referred to as “Henchman” confessed to the assault. Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez questions Phillips’ journalistic standards and expects Rosemond to clear his name when he comes home from federal prison in Brooklyn. "This Chuck Philips character is the Howard Cosell to Jimmy Rosemond. He is trying to rebuild his torn reputation as a discredited journalist. Trust me, when Jimmy comes home, he's going to beat the shit out of Chuck Phillips. What happened to journalists fact-checking the stories they run?" (6/27p)
