BET Awards

THE USUAL SUSPECTS + D’ANGELO: Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Chris Brown got the most love at last night’s BET Awards, while the enigmatic and reclusive D’Angelo provided a highlight with his first televised performance in 12 years—watch it above. Beyoncé was named Best Female R&B Artist and Brown won Best Male Artist, while Hova and Yeezy got Best Group for Watch the Throne. The collaborators also won Video of the Year for "Otis," while Nicki Minaj was named Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Big Sean took home the trophy for Best New Artist. The show featured a tribute to Whitney Houston, with performances by Monica, Brandy, Chaka Khan, Whitney's brother Gary and mother Cissy Houston, who got a standing ovation after belting out "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Also honored were Donna Summer, Dick Clark and Don Cornelius. (7/2a)
