Lillywhite at Work

LILLYWHITE GETS BUSY: Grammy-winning producer and former Columbia Records executive Steve Lillywhite (U2, Morrissey, Phish, Peter Gabriel, Rolling Stones, Jason Mraz) has just entered the studio with Thirty Seconds to Mars to begin work on their new album after doing the honors on their 2009 release, This Is War. The veteran dial-twister also has new albums by Dave Matthews Band on Sept. 11 and The Killers in the fall. After recently being named a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) by the Queen of England, Lillywhite will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming Audio Engineering Society (AES) confab, Oct. 26-29, in San Francisco. Here's a shot of Lillywhite and TSTM's Jared Leto flipping a coin to decide who pays for the take-out pizza. (7/2p)
