Perry Catches Fire with Movie, Single, Sale

PERRY, PERRY GOOD: Last week provided plenty of fireworks for Capitol/EMI pop diva Katy Perry. Her 3-D concert movie, Part of Me, landed in the Top 10 in weekend box office gross, earning $11 million over the holiday in 2,730 theaters. And with a new single, “Wide Awake,” sitting atop the iTunes singles chart, Perry’s Teenage Dream album will climb to #2 on tomorrow’s HITS Album tally, tacking another 75k to a total now at 2.3 million, buoyed by last week’s 99 cent AmazonMP3.com sale.  Who needs Russell Brand anyway?
