Bergman Upped at Downtown

UP AT DOWNTOWN: EVP and General Counsel Andrew Bergman has been named COO for Downtown Music by Chairman/CEO Josh Deutsch. Bergman had served as outside legal counsel to the company since its launch at the beginning of 2006, signing on as EVP/General Counsel in 2008 and helping Downtown negotiate the business and legal legal affairs for both its recorded music and publishing sectors, as well as helping to develop business initiatives. Said Deutsch: "Andrew's diligence, wisdom and breadth of knowledge are invaluable assets. I look forward to working with him in the years to come as we continue to expand Downtown's position as a leading independent music company." Bergman's career in the music industry began in the business affairs department at Island Records, before he left to become a partner at the law firms Roberts & Ritholz and Davis, Shapiro, Lewit & Hayes.
