Financial Times Backs UMG-EMI
FT OKS UMG-EMI: The London-based Financial Times has weighed in with support for the proposed UMG-EMI merger just a day after running an editorial from Impala Co-President Patrick Zelnik backing the deal. Zelnik has now emerged as part of a group headed by Sir Richard Branson that wants to acquire Virgin from the company as part of its required divestitures. Said the editorial: “In the imperfect world we live in, regulators should not be afraid of giving the merger a conditional go-ahead.” For the complete story, go here. (7/17p)
