Mariah has album coming

GOOD TIMING: Mariah Carey, who will reportedly be paid between $17 million and $18 million for pay for judging on American Idol next season (see 7/24 item), just happens to have a new album coming on IDJ. The first single, ‘Triumphant,’ will hit early next month. As for that salary, it’s believed to be the biggest ever for a judge on a music-competition show. Jennifer Lopez got $12 million her first year and $15 million in her second, while Britney Spears is getting a reported $15 million for appearing on The X Factor. (7/25a)
