VH1's Pop Up Videos Debuts

POP UP POPS UP: VH1 is bringing back its Emmy Award-nominated Pop Up Video franchise, with a new season that kicks off Aug. 6 at 12 p.m. (ET/PT). The network will launch the latest incarnation of the show at Lollapalooza, which takes place this weekend in Chicago’s Grant Park by putting attendees in the spotlight as stars of their own videos via “augmented reality” software. Developed specifically for VH1 by third-party experiential agency AWESTRUCK Marketing Group, the breakthrough technology will allow fans to see themselves live on a jumbo screen next to their favorite acts. Participants can then post photos from the experience instantly to Facebook and Twitter through a custom application. Fans are also encouraged to tweet using the official hashtag #PopUpVideo and to check out Pop Up Video on social media by following @VH1PopUpVideo and liking the official Facebook page here. (7/30p)
