Kimmel to 11:35 in 2013

KIMMEL MOVES UP A HALF HOUR: Disney/ABC has announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will move from its starting time of midnight to 11:35 p.m. weekdays, starting Jan. 8, with Nightline going to 12:35 a..m. The network is hoping the 44-year-old host can attract a younger audience at the same hour, siphoning viewers from 62-year-old Jay Leno and 65-year-old David Letterman. The move comes after a decade of the show building both awareness and ratings leading up to its first Emmy nomination this year. Kimmel told Deadline Hollywood Daily's Nikki Finke. “It’s a rare situation where patience pays off—and also the fact that no one was paying attention.” (8/21p)
