Cooper's Post-Lyor WMG Plan

COOPER SCOOPER: Many believe Stephen Cooper’s model for the new WMG is based on EMI, where the executive pay scale was a lot lower, a structure he was privy to when Warner was making its bid for the British company. EMI’s resultant higher profit margin with a lower marketshare must be super-appealing to a numbers-cruncher like Cooper, and could mean massive consolidation at WMG’s U.S. operations. Given that, wonderers are wondering about the music group's recent Mike Caren deal, which is said to be a whopper. (9/25p)
